Charter Revision
The Village of Edwardsburg is looking to elect a Charter Commission. The Charter Commission will consist of 5 electors who are registered voters who own village property and have residence of at least 2 years in the village. The election for members of the Charter Commission will take place in August.
Those who are elected will be sworn in within 10 days after the election, at which time they will choose their Clerk and Chairman, and will work to frame a charter within 60 days.
After a proposed charter is completed, it will be presented to the Governor of the State. If the Governor approves the revision, it will be published at least 2 weeks prior to election, where electors will have a final vote.
Village residents are billed for water and trash removal services. Bills are sent out at the end of every month and are due by the 20th of the following month . . .
