Village News October 2019

The Village Council met on Monday, September 16th for their regular monthly meeting. The Water Department will be doing a full system flush Monday, October 7th and Tuesday, October 8th. Do not use hot water as hydrants are flushed in your area. To help clean out your personal service lines, run your cold water for approximately 10 to 15 minutes until the water is cleared up. This will help remove the iron that has accumulated between your personal curb stop and the faucets in your home. Thank you for your patience during this time and any inconvenience this may cause.

The Street Superintendent would like to remind village residents that leaves and loose yard waste needs to be bagged. Fall leaf pick-up will begin the week of October 15th in the Village. This is leaf pickup only, no brush, and please do not rake leaves into the road.

The council set the Village Trick-Or-Treat hours for Thursday, October 31st from 6:00 to 7:30.

The Cemetery Board met on Tuesday, September 10th. The board discussed ways to make the cemetery more user friendly for locating burials. A signboard with maps, naming the drives and marking the rows are some of the options. As the sextons prepare for winter they would like to remind everyone to please remove anything from around headstones that you would like to keep by October 31st. They will be stripping the graves between October 31st and November 18th . If you have questions regarding the Edwardsburg Cemetery contact the Village office at 269-663-8484.
