The Village Council met on Monday, April 15th for their regular monthly meeting. The council approved the purchase of new picnic tables for the parks not to exceed $1,000.00. Two of the wooden tables in Gunn Park are unsafe and need to be replaced. They also approved to purchase 2 fire hydrants from Core & Main for $4,829.30. This is part of the walking path project out to the sports complex. Street Administrator Peak reminded everyone of the upcoming village street millage proposal on the May 7th ballot. Treasurer Withers presented the council with a list of delinquent water/refuse accounts to be put on the village tax bills for 2019. This was followed by the council adopting Resolution 19-04 a resolution to confirm special assessments. The council approved supplying a village employee and the use of village equipment for the township clean-up days April 26th & 27th.
To the residents of the Village of Edwardsburg: Please be notified that there will be a Public Hearing held by the Village of Edwardsburg Planning Commission at the Village Hall, 26296 US Highway 12, Edwardsburg, Michigan on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to consider the petition of E.L.F. Excavating, 20140 Jane Street, South Bend, Indiana, to rezone the following property from Residential (R1) to Service Commercial (SC). The location of the property involved being located at 26631 Main Street, Edwardsburg, Michigan. Tax I.D. Numbers 14-091-100-075-10, 14-091-100-075-20, and 14-091-100-075-30.
With the coming of spring here are a few informational reminders for village residents.
Trash & recycle containers are not to be at the street 12 hours prior to pick up and 12 hours after pick up.
From the end of October to the end of November – all other times they must be bagged in biodegradable (paper) bags. Leaf burning is NOT permissible within village limits.
Monday's – must be in a biodegradable (paper) bag, at the curb no later than 7 am. And weigh less than 50 lbs. No dirt or sod.
Monday's – material must be placed at the road side no later than 7 am. Cut ends facing towards the street. Material must be easily handled by one person. Vines, leaves, & brush with root mass attached, rose & other thorn bushes, firewood, fence posts, landscape timbers & limbs with wire or nails will not be picked up. Any work performed by a contractor shall be the contractor's responsibility to dispose of.
