Village News June 2019

The Village Council met on Monday, May 20th for their regular monthly meeting.  Village President Scott Mackling would like to thank the Village residents who supported the street millage on the May 7th ballot.  The millage passed 63 to 36.  Anticipating the much needed funds the Village will put together a street improvement plan.  We are still waiting to hear from MDOT on the Category B Grant for which the Village has applied.

The council also thanks the Edwardsburg American Legion, VFW, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, our Cemetery Sexton’s and you the public that put time and energy into preparing the Edwardsburg Cemetery for Memorial Day each year.  It really does take a Village and it is a beautiful way to say Thank You to all who have served and continue to serve this country.

Also please keep in mind that the village has a noxious weeds and grass ordinance.  Any grasses and uncultivated vegetation the height of which exceeds ten (10) inches except trees, shrubs, bushes, wild flowers, cultivated flowers, ground cover, plants or gardens shall be subject to the enforcement provisions of this Ordinance.  You can read the ordinance in its entirety as well as penalties for violation on the village website.
