Village News March 2019

The Village Council met on Monday, February 18th for their regular meeting. They approved hiring Siegfried Crandall to do the annual audit, adopted the State equipment rental rates, and approved budget amendments for the month of February. They also discussed the information they would like placed on the Village website to include budgets, audit reports and the board packet for the monthly meetings.

In the February edition of the Voice, it was announced that the Village will be putting a Street Millage of 2 mills on the May ballot that will collect $43,000. It may be helpful to know that last year the Village did an overlay on Section Street that was approximately 600 feet and it cost the Village $12,000. To mill and replace 1 mile of road would cost approximately $170,000. The Village may consider seeking assistance with streets from the township since Village residents are members of the township and pay township taxes as well as the Village taxes.
