Village News November 2018

The Village Council met on Monday, October 15th for their regular monthly meeting. Jeff Rood, CPA with Siegfried Crandall PC, gave a report of the March 31, 2018 fiscal year-end audit.  Over all he said, β€œThe Village is in very good shape and received the highest rate that can be achieved on an audit.”  Kellen VanHulle and Jay Penny, candidates running for seats on the Village Council, introduced themselves.  Current council members seeking re-election are Terry Bidwell, Laura Hughes and Jacqueline Tighe.  Remember to vote on Tuesday, November 6th.

Leaf pick-up in the Village of Edwardsburg will begin October 22, 2018 and continue through November 30, 2018, weather permitting.  Leaves must be raked into a pile along the shoulder of the street. Piles should be no wider than six feet to keep them out of the traffic area. There may be no sticks, branches, or other large debris in the leaf piles as these will damage the Village leaf vacuum. Leaf piles containing debris WILL NOT be picked up.  Leaf burning is NOT permissible within village limits.

The Cemetery Board met on Tuesday, September 11th and hired Gary and Gail Levan to be the new sextons.  The board would like to thank Dick Carlson for 18 years of service.  Dick was hired as sexton in December of 1999.  If you have questions regarding the Edwardsburg Cemetery contact the Village office at 269-663-8484.
